Indeed, our work suggests that Large Language Models (LLMs) fine-tuned for particular medication tasks and trained on clinical data present a promising approach to create AI PharmD that could transform patient care. We are excited to share a few insights from our ongoing work.

Medication management is a complex and expensive process. Fatalities caused by adverse drug reactions lead to unnecessary health expenses amounting to billions of dollars. Hospitals and insurance providers are actively looking for ways to enhance the medication process for patients and reduce avoidable costs.

PharmDs usually collaborate with physicians as members of the healthcare team to enhance the effectiveness of patient medications. They are highly trained professionals with a doctorate in pharmaceuticals. The median annual wage of a PharmD in 2023 was around $136,000. PharmDs prepare the best medication strategies by considering the disease conditions, medication protocols, and patient data. The patient data can vary from basic clinical data to more intricate combinations of clinical, genetic, and activity data.

Can LLMs offer equivalent PharmD services by thoroughly analyzing diverse patient data? This groundbreaking AI service could revolutionize patient care by offering personalized medication solutions.
